Mickiel “Mike” Gregory Hodge passed away unexpectedly at home on March 31, 2026 at the age of 60.
Mike was born in Houston, Texas on April 29, 1965 to Mickiel Hodge and Pauline Rhodes Hodge. A graduate of Junction High School in Junction, Texas, he obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1988.
On May 28, 1988, he married Dani Thomson, his high school sweetheart. After moving to the Houston area, Mike began his career in public administration, and obtained a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Houston in 1990. He and Dani have three children-Greg, Logan, and Kevin-who were the most important part of his life.
Mike was a member of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, following which he was commissioned and served as an executive officer in the United States Army Reserve, 808th En Co in Houston, Texas, from 1991 to 1995. Prior to his retirement in 2026, Mike served as the City Manager for the City of Marble Falls from 2014 to 2026. While in Marble Falls, Mike was a Scout Master who took pride in the accomplishments of his Scouts and, in particular, the number of them who became Eagle Scouts. In addition to his community involvement, Mike and his family were active members of their local Episcopal Church.
Mike was a devoted husband and father and an avid Aggie. He enjoyed building things, traveling, and attending sporting events at Texas A&M.
Mike is survived by his wife, Dani; his children, Greg, Logan (Alexa) and Kevin (Julia); and two grandchildren, Jamie and Ivy.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Mark Hodge; his parents, Mickiel and Pauline Hodge; and his foster father, Neil Rizk.
He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marble Falls.
