Henry “Hank” Joseph Heim II, 84, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 27, 2026.
Born on March 18, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, Hank was the son of Henry Joseph and Helen Anne (Gorick) Heim. As a proud Vietnam Veteran, he served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966. Following his military service, Hank dedicated much of his life to public service as a Chicago firefighter, serving his community with courage and commitment from 1970 until his retirement as a lieutenant in 1995. In addition, he was a loyal supporter of the “Brotherhood of the Barrel” for the Chicago Fire Fighters Union, Local 2, and held a deep respect and camaraderie for his firefighting family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Judye (Richardson) Moore-Heim; his adopted son, Edward (Hanley) Heim; daughter-in-law, Roberta (Turner) Heim; and cherished granddaughter, Ashley Heim; his brothers, Gerald Heim (Cathleen) and James Heim (Judith); as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will fondly remember his humor, and untiring spirit.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carol (Maslanka) Heim.
Hank will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and deep devotion to his family and community. His legacy of service and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who know him.
The family would like to offer special appreciation to the hospice team with Cella Bella, especially James, for the excellent care they provided to Hank in his final days.
A celebration of life service for Hank will be held at his home on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at 1:00-3:00. For details contact Judye.
