Geoffrey (Geoff) Grumbles, 51, of Buda, a devoted husband, father, son, and lifelong Longhorn, passed away on March 30, 2026, after a courageous fight with stage 4 brain cancer.
A proud alumnus of the University of Texas, he carried the Longhorn spirit (Hook ’em) into every chapter of his life. He loved watching the Longhorns and was a season ticket holder for the football and basketball teams. He was even known to have kept a portable TV in his office to watch the games (on his lunch break, of course). However, his greatest achievement wasn’t found in a stadium or a classroom, but in the thirty beautiful years of marriage he shared with his beloved wife, Teresa. Together, they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and a shared dedication to their family. Geoff instilled a love of adventure in their boys. He loved traveling across the US to visit national parks and always enjoyed their yearly beach trips to Padre Island.
To his two sons, he was more than a father-he was their greatest fan and a constant fixture on the sidelines. Whether it was the Friday night lights of a football field, the intensity of a powerlifting meet or wrestling match, the fast-paced energy of the basketball court, or choir concerts, Geoff was always there. He didn’t just attend these events; he lived them alongside his boys. He was the first to offer a word of encouragement after a tough loss. He found true joy in supporting his sons’ passions in any way possible, ensuring they always knew they had a champion in their corner. He even learned to support the Red Raiders when his oldest son decided to jump ship and go to Texas Tech. His presence will be deeply missed in the stands, at the family table, and throughout the community he touched.
A native Austinite, Geoff was known for his intelligence (particularly with numbers), his thoughtful reasoning, his sense of humor, and his steadiness. He was also known for his passion for meteorology, leading to his nickname: the Weatherman. His sterling qualities weren’t flashy, but they did form a bedrock for his family and friends. His devotion might manifest as something simple like regularly calling on his way home from a long day at work to see if he needed to stop by the store first, but all the little things he did made him the dedicated family man, loving brother, devoted friend, and valued coworker who will be missed by all who knew him.
Geoff is survived by his wife, Teresa, his two sons, Tyler and Luke, parents Edward and Sammie Grumbles, brothers Gregory Grumbles (Dena) and Timothy Grumbles, sisters-in-law Lisa Medina (Joaquin) and Sharisse Parker (Robert), nephews Brice Parker, Maximilian Medina, Samuel Grumbles, and Walker Grumbles, and nieces Caroline Medina, Grace Grumbles, and Savannah Grumbles, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Geoff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ray and Jewel Windsor, and Ralph Brownlow.
