Sylvia De La Cruz, 73, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at her son’s home.
She was born April 4, 1953, in San Marcos, Texas to Cesario and Aurora Gonzales (deceased).
Sylvia is survived by her son, John (Jennifer) De La Cruz; two grandchildren, Johnathon (Sara) De La Cruz and Ashlan (Julian) Fernandez; five great-grandchildren and one on the way: Emma, Abram, Josiah De La Cruz, Synamy, and Oziah Fernandez.
Sylvia worked as a counter attendant at Comet Cleaners. She interacted with customers, processing orders, labeling clothes, and met many people. Her lighted smile often brightened people’s lives as she greeted them. She never complained or argued when faced with a task.
Sylvia was like a shining star in the universe. She always had an answer or a solution.
Sylvia loved to travel. Whether it was a cruise, a road trip, a sporting event, a restaurant, a garage sale, a Christian ministry, or observing Christmas house lights, she was always ready.
She will be remembered as someone who loved her family deeply. She loved cooking, being loyal, and living life with a sense of meaning.
