Ronald Edward MARABITO

Ronald Edward Marabito, 94, passed away peacefully March 19, 2026, in Richardson, Texas. Born February 29, 1932, in Alliance, Ohio, he was a man of many talents~ Architect, Photographer, Artist, Educator. Ron was dedicated to his family, friends, work and passions, all which intertwined for a life well-lived.
Raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Ron moved to San Marcos, Texas in the 1950’s to serve in the United States Air Force testing jet engines and enjoying springboard diving. He attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1956 – 1961, receiving a Bachelor of Architecture, was a member of Tau Sigma Delta National Architectural Honor Society and was awarded the Alpha Rho Chi Bronze Medal for Leadership at UT Austin.
Ron would later move to Dallas, Texas to start a family. He began R.E. Marabito, Architects as Owner & Principal in 1965, and worked as a General Contractor in both Commercial and Residential projects. From 1972 – 1978, he organized and was the Professor of the Construction Management Department at Richland College. He was a proud member and two-time President of the Dallas Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute from 1965 until his passing.
A nature, photography, and travel enthusiast, Ron loved being the Field Trip Coordinator for the Heard Nature Photographers Club from 2007 – 2014 and was a multiple Bluebird Wanderlodge owner. He took great pleasure in being a longtime member and staff contributor of the RV Forum, offering he and his beautiful wife, Shirley, and their Corgis an opportunity to travel extensively making friends along the way.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Sam & Ida Marabito, his sister and her husband, Ruth & Roger Falasco, their daughter, Rosemary, his little brother, Sam Marabito, and his first wife, Mabel Wright Marabito. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marabito and her son Chad Campbell, his son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Cindy Marabito, and daughter, Rebecca Marabito, along with nieces and nephews, Roberta, Robin, Roger Jr. and Ronnie.
An accomplished man known for his strength, loyalty, witty humor, and blue eyes, Ron Marabito left a lasting impression on everyone.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. at Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary.
