Danny Keith Houghton, 76, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2026.
He was born on March 13, 1950, in Austin, Texas, to Gerald and Alice Houghton.
Danny dedicated more than 30 years of his career to IBM before retiring. Known to many as “Hoot,” he embraced life fully, enjoying time on the golf course, participating in a classic car club, and proudly driving his beloved 1967 Camaro. He had a deep love for Notre Dame football and rarely missed a game, with a special highlight being a trip to Ireland to watch Notre Dame play Navy. He also enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises with his wife during her lifetime, a tradition he continued in later years. He found joy in the simple things, but above all, he cherished the time he spent with his friends and family.
He is survived by his daughter, Toni Houghton and her partner, David Konrad; his son, Neil Houghton and his wife, Jenni Houghton; and his sister, Susan Kelly and her husband, Michael Kelly.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Frances Love; his parents, Gerald and Alice Houghton; his uncle, Wallace Houghton; his brother, Terald Houghton; his sister-in-law, Brenda Houghton, and his beloved wife Pam Houghton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or another cancer charity of your choice.
