Luis Alberto Alvarez Mulato, known lovingly to family and friends as Wuicho, was born on July 27, 1986, in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico, and passed away on April 10, 2026, in Kyle, Texas, after a tragic hit and run. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose life was marked by laughter, faith, hard work, and a generous spirit.
Luis lived a life that was full of personality and heart. He was a man who could walk into a room and bring a smile before he even said a word. He was funny, loving, and spirited, and those who knew him will remember the way he made people laugh with his jokes and his playful way of “diciendo mamadas” that somehow always left everyone smiling. He had a gift for lightening heavy moments, and even when life was not easy, he found a way to keep joy alive. His laughter was contagious, and his presence was unforgettable.
He graduated high school in Mexico and was a self-taught mechanic whose hands and mind worked together with skill and determination. He served as an auto mechanic at Alvarez Auto in Kyle, Texas, where he was known for his dedication and practical wisdom. He took pride in his work and in being someone others could count on. Whether he was fixing a vehicle or helping someone through a difficult day, Luis gave his time and effort freely. He was the kind of man who understood that service was not just about work, but about love in action.
Above all, Luis was devoted to his family. He married the love of his life, Amanda Rodriguez, on December 5, 2025, in Hays County, Texas, and cherished the life they built together. He was a loving husband who especially enjoyed dancing with Amanda, his amor, and sharing the simple joys that made life beautiful. He was also a father who loved his children deeply. He leaves behind Eli Alvarez, Ivana Alvarez, Jade Alvarez, Moises Alvarez, Abraham Rodriguez, Luke Anthony Rodriguez, Jon Paul Rodriguez, and Miguel Angel Rodriguez. He was proud of each of them and carried the heart of a father who wanted the best for his children in every season of life.
Luis is also survived by his brothers and sisters, his father, Sacramento Alvarez Diosdado, his mother, Celia Mulato Alvarez, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory close. He was a man who understood the value of family, even when life required patience, effort, and grace. He put up with wife and kids and even ex-wife with strength and endurance, and that effort spoke to his commitment to those he loved. He was, in every sense, a great father.
His Catholic faith was an important part of who he was. Luis believed in God, and his life reflected both the humor and humility that can come from walking with the Lord. He enjoyed going to church and lived with a spirit that, though imperfect like all of us, was full of warmth, sincerity, and hope. Those who knew him can take comfort in knowing that the same God who gave him laughter also received him in mercy. In the Catholic faith, we trust that death does not have the final word, and that Luis is now resting in the peace of Christ.
Luis enjoyed the things that made life feel full. He liked drinking Michelob, playing pool, eating BBQ, listening to romantic Spanish music, going to the bar, and hanging out with friends. He loved spending time with family, making people laugh by cracking jokes, and helping others whenever he could. He even had his own honest way of enjoying life, though he could not grill, and that only made him more human and more lovable to those around him. He was a man who did not pretend to be perfect, and that honesty made him all the more endearing.
The words that best describe Luis are funny, loving, and spirited. He was a man of presence, a man of faith, and a man whose memory will continue to bring both tears and smiles. His life was a blessing, and his absence leaves a deep ache in the hearts of all who knew him. Yet even in grief, there is gratitude for the time shared, the laughter given, and the love he poured into the world.
As we remember Wuicho, we give thanks to God for his life and for the joy he brought to so many. May his memory live on in the stories told, the jokes repeated, the songs played, and the prayers offered. And may the Lord comfort Amanda, his children, his parents, his siblings, and all who loved him, until the day we meet again in that eternal home where sorrow is no more and joy is everlasting.
